Graduate program
The Master of Education degree program is designed for individuals interested in the study of teaching, curriculum development, and/or supervision/administration in physical education. The program of study includes the core, research, specialization area, electives, and either a thesis, project, or comprehensive exam.
The Doctor of Philosophy degree program is designed for individuals interested in becoming members of teacher education faculties in colleges and universities. The program of study includes the core, subdiscipline, professional education, research and statistics, electives, and dissertation.
The Supervisory Certification program is designed for experienced teachers
who currently hold a master's degree and aspire to
become department chairs or supervisors of physical
and health education programs in public schools.
The program requires a minimum of six specific
graduate courses in supervision and administration
including an internship. Course work taken prior to
enrollment, which meets requirements of this
program, may reduce this total. This option leads to
supervisory certification (K-12) in health and
physical education from the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania.
